We chose our topic, The Invention of the Printing Press, by looking at a list of events. On that list of events, we saw many events that have greatly impacted society. We both agreed to chose the printing press though. We thought that it had a greater impact on society than any of the other events on the list.
When we conducted our research we searched things such as, "The invention of the printing press" and "Johannes Gutenberg." This helped us find a lot of great information to put on our note cards. We mostly used google and bing as our search engines. We spent much time trying to find the best and most liable sources for our notecards and our website.
The presentation category we chose was a website because that is the only option we had. We think this is the best way to present the project because on a website a person can put anything from words to pictures to videos to help learn and understand the topic better. When we created our project, we first chose a theme that we thought went well with our topic. After that, we added all of our tabs and put pictures on the website. We then added all of our information from our note cards to background information, turning point, economic impact, political impact, social impact, and the conclusion. After that, we made our bibliography and put it on the website. Lastly, we wrote our process paper and then published the website.
Our project definitely relates to the theme, turning points. The printing press is the cause of so many things that happened. For example, the first book ever printed, which was also the first bible ever printed, the first mass production of books, and spreading ideas were some things the printing press did, just to name a few. Who knows where we would be today if Johannes Gutenberg never invented the printing press.
